The Bellefonte Area School District is accepting applications for an Elementary Special Education Teacher at Benner Elementary.
This posistion serves students in grades K-5 that are identified as special education students. The primary caseload is learning support, but this position may also provide itinerant emotional support and autistic support based on students' needs.
Candidates must have good communication skills and the ability to develop a good working relationship with staff, students, and parents. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans for eligible students and creating a learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. The candidate should also have demonstrated success in utilizing data to drive classroom instruction and in developing instructional plans. Exceptional skills in classroom management and progress monitoring are required.
Recent graduates are welcome to apply. Attachment of PRAXIS and Letter of Eligibility from graduating college/university is required in lieu of PA Certificate until actual PA Certificate is available.
This position is in accordance with the Collective Barganing Agreement.
