The Bellefonte Area School District is accepting applications for a High School Autistic Support Teacher.
Working with secondary age students with autism and other disabilities. Responsibilities include providing academic and behavioral support in general education classes for students included in that setting. Teacher will also provide social skills instruction as well as small group language arts and mathematics instruction for students who have specific learning needs in those content areas. Individual should have knowledge and familiarity with writing and implementing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans, working with para educators, transition services and making academic accommodations and modifications as dictated by students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Special Education certification required.
Recent graduates are welcome to apply. Attachment of PRAXIS and Letter of Eligibility from graduating college/university is required in lieu of PA Certificate until actual PA Certificate is available.
