Bellefonte Area School District is accepting applications for the postion of Head Coach JV Baseball. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The JV Head coach is responsible for managing the JV baseball program.  The successful candidate will be responsible for:  Organizing and supervising practice sessions. Making arrangements for practice facilities. Caring for equipment and supplies. Passing out equipment to each athlete and maintaining an accurate record of all equipment. Developing and/or utilizing teaching techniques consistent with sound learning theory and personal coaching philosophy, so that all participants will have adequate opportunities to learn the skills, techniques, strategies, rules, and sportsmanship conduct, basic to the sport. Directing the team at the various contests both home and away. Cooperating with the Athletic Trainer and student trainers in all cases of injured athletes. Attending all practice sessions and competitions of the specific sport throughout the season. Delegating duties and responsibilities to volunteer coaches as appropriate. Attending coaching staff meetings as needed. Informing volunteer coaches, players, parents, and appropriate school personnel of all rules that team members will be expected to observe. Maintaining communications with the Varsity Head Coach concerning expenses, equipment, invitational, and other concerns. Preparing team rosters. Performing such tasks, consistent with the position, as may be assigned.  Supervising off-season workouts Nov. through Feb.  Maintaining statistical records of all events.  Attending team banquet at end of the season.  Communicating and working with maintenance staff to keep the facilities in working order, provide improvements, and plan for additions. Reflecting on the past and current state of the program to plan adjustments for the future.

Coaches are to be exemplary role models for the athletes, school, community and District.
